WRITER'S BLOCK

Workshops, PS³

Daniel Quigley

WRITER'S BLOCK is an interactive process piece, using a typewriter to create a visual representation of decay over time. Contributors will copy out a text, including any spelling mistakes and errors made by the previous contributors, and potentially adding their own, which will be copied out by the next person. This iterative and additive process will degrade some or all of the text to the point of unrecognisability. This work was first installed in Gothenburg in December 2023, and is heavily inspired by Alvin Lucier's "I Am Sitting In A Room".
